“We Need to Pray” Bible Study Lesson 2

House of Prayer

These scriptures were highlighted in our 2nd Lesson of the “We Need To Pray” Bible Study.

Isaiah 56:7

“Even them will I bring to my holy mountain, and make them joyful in my house of prayer: their burnt offerings and their sacrifices shall be accepted upon mine altar; for mine house shall be called an house of prayer for all people.”

God calls His House to be a House of Prayer! Our success or failure in the Kingdom of God depends on our prayer life.
Mark 11:15-18 (New King James Version)
15 So they came to Jerusalem. Then Jesus went into the temple and began to drive out those who bought and sold in the temple, and overturned the tables of the money changers and the seats of those who sold doves. 16 And He would not allow anyone to carry wares through the temple. 17 Then He taught, saying to them, “Is it not written, ‘My house shall be called a house of prayer for all nations’?[a] But you have made it a ‘den of thieves.’[b]
The Lord wishes to stress to us the importance of  prayer. His people who are called by His Name – are meant to be a people of prayer! The following scriptures talk about what happens when we pray successfully.
Jeremiah 33:3 (King James Version) ” 3Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.”

Deuteronomy 4:7 (King James Version) ” 7For what nation is there so great, who hath God so nigh unto them, as the LORD our God is in all things that we call upon him for?”
