Spiritual Evolution

Evolution is defined as a gradual process in which something changes into a different and usually more complex or better form, the process of developing.

The word “Evolve” means to develop, or change over time.

Acts 2:1-4 (KJV)

1And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.

2And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.

3And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.

4And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

Throughout the scriptures, Fire is the symbol of the presence of God. The fire that fell upon the apostles was not meant to be a one time phenomenon!

Matthew 3:11 (KJV)

11 I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance, but He who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.

Acts 2:42 (KJV)

42 And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers.

The followers of Jesus “continued steadfastly..” in the work of the Kingdom despite the troubles they faced because of the fire that continued to burn!

Jeremiah 20:9 (NKJV)

9Then I said, “I will not make mention of Him, nor speak any more in His name.” But His word was in mine heart as a burning fire shut up in my bones; and I was weary with forbearing, and I could not hold back.

How do we keep the Holy Ghost fire burning? By living for God! Reading our bibles, praying, fasting, witnessing, worshipping! It’s easy to get discouraged by the work of daily living, but it’s time to make a Resolution for Evolution!

We cannot afford to be content staying where we are. We must strive daily for spiritual growth and a deeper relationship with Jesus.

Joel 3:9-10 (KJV)

9Proclaim ye this among the Gentiles; Prepare war, wake up the mighty men, let all the men of war draw near; let them come up:

10Beat your plowshares into swords and your pruninghooks into spears: let the weak say, I am strong.

It’s time for warfare Christians! Please remember Philippians 4:13 which says,

Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ which strengthenth me.”
